Job Description

Position Overview


Services for the UnderServed (SUS) is a New York-based nonprofit organization that provides housing and support services to 25,000 individuals and their families living in New York City and Long Island.  SUS believes every New Yorker has the right to lead a life of purpose.

The Desk Security will be responsible for:
  • Responsible for ensuring a safe environment and that tenants are adhering to House Rules and program policies
  • Monitor surveillance systems
  • Act as role model to tenants and encourage program participation
  • Provide necessary support to residents for a variety of issues
  • Make hourly observation rounds and document in the communication log
  • Communicate incidents to supervisory staff via written incident reports and communication log
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Provides frontline crisis intervention
  • Answer phones and route calls as needed
  • Ensure reception area is tidy
  • Performs other duties as requested by supervisor


Qualifications


REQUIREMENTS:
  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • 1-2 years of experience in a community based, residential program required
  • Security experience strongly preferred; CCTV, rounds of the facility
  • De-escalation skills and familiarity with treatment setting strongly preferred
