Position Overview

Services for the UnderServed (SUS) is a New York-based nonprofit organization that provides housing and support services to 25,000 individuals and their families living in New York City and Long Island.  SUS believes every New Yorker has the right to lead a life of purpose.

Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse will be expected to document face to face interactions with individuals, including progress notes and nursing assessments, and facilitate medically focused support groups. The RN will develop and implement medical health monitoring protocol for individuals and a curriculum for group support to assist wellness, medication management, and mental self-care training and tailor chronic illness and risk management protocols for application in a supported housing setting. They will work in collaboration with Behavioral Health Division, Directors, to achieve high standards of health care service delivery and documentation.

  • Ability to monitor and ensure access to coordinated medical health services for individuals living with HIV/AIDS
  • Registered Nurse degree from an accredited institution
  • Nursing Licensure in N.Y.S.
  • At least two years’ experience in direct work with HIV/AIDS population required; adults with Mental Health and Substance Use diagnosis strongly preferred
  • Certified Trainer in CPR and First Aid; familiarity in teaching and training/presentation skills a plus
  • Good interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, AWARDS
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Valid NYS driver’s license a plus
